A heated discussion took place!

Recently, the Verkhovna Rada adopted in the first reading draft law No. 12374-d, which provides for the reform of the Assets Tracing and Management Agency (ARMA). In this regard, the Ukrainian Bar Association held a round table “ARMA: a major restructuring. How draft law No. 12374-d changes the philosophy of the Agency’s work”.

One of the key issues for arbitration managers was involvement in the process of managing seized assets.
The event was co-moderated by Natalia Tyshchenko, managing partner of Nobili Law Company and deputy chair of the APU Committee on Competition Law.

The discussion was sharp, but constructive, and most importantly, it demonstrated that reforming ARMA is impossible without involving those who will directly work with seized assets.

The event brought together representatives of ARMA, the Prosecutor General’s Office, the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine, anti-corruption organizations, arbitration managers, lawyers, private executors and the public.
The changes under discussion are designed to create a reliable foundation for effective management of seized assets. It is important that the law not only works in practice, but also minimizes corruption risks and provides a real result.
